Beware. This company misleads you and preys upon your own misfortune. These are your men if you want to get tricked difficult.
After the Romanian-looking"locksmith" fellow came in an unmarked truck, and noticed I had a straightforward 7 pin tumbler lock , he then just begun price gouging and quoted me to get 185 bucks.
I asked him if there was any way or when I could have the quotation that was 60 dollar given. He said , but he would"waive my tax". . Which I don't have any clue what he was talking about.
Then he"reprogrammed" the lock by taking my own key and just turning it into the knob. Wow, magic, right?
Over the telephone, the guy who picked up my telephone clearly did not have any company managing customer calls... I know this because I work at a call center and also do customer support for a living. He had been quite gruff and did not cause me to feel at ease at all. Because I wanted to get back into my room and get some sleep before work 21, my apprehension was ignored by me.
Here are the charges he charged:
* "Company Fees" 30 USD
* "Labor Unlock" - 90 USD
They are counting upon you becoming desperate like I had been to be able to bill you outrageous amounts using trumped charges up.
He took a bump key sprayed WD-40 in my lock and kept banging on it and twisting the lock. It opened in under a minute.
While doing an errand, I locked myself out of my area. It was about 8pm. No biggie, I thought - I'll just call this locksmith I discovered on Yelp.
Never do business you can't verify physical places, their legal names, and are registered ALOA associates that.
Later on, I found out that no locksmith would not bill this insane amount of money. Additionally, I found out that"reprogramming" a lock is something that is simply done on magnetic/electronic locks, which can be proposterous to even suggest on physical locks such as these.
He then began making up all this BULLSHIT.
I called requesting a quotation for getting my bedroom door unlocked. The guy said 60 bucks flat, but he would have to charge more, if the locksmith had to do something out of the normal.
He asked him about the"Reprogram lock" fee, and he said he unlocks the door he will need to"reprogram" the lock because it wouldn't take the crucial anymore.
I couldn't have been more incorrect.
*"Service telephone" - 30 USD
Since I understood nothing about lockpicks, had to get to work and had been desperate, I paid the charges.
