The service and those who work here are great! They made a copy of my keys for me to the spot (took 2 minutes)
This review is from a copying standpoint that is key. I had a couple of keys copied they did it really fast charged prices that were fair compared to anyplace. I would come here, if I need a key copied.
I had some questions when it came installing my lock, while they were fast to react to my petition. I'd locked myself outside of my apartment afte losing my keys. The first thing that the tech did was drill the cylinder while they were quick to the scene. . .after of scoping the mechanics out under a minute, he proceeded to move in with force and went to the drill. This is only one of the things I was always on alert to (a legitimate locksmith should opt for the drill as a last ditch effort and should have the tools necessary to open any standard front door lock). . .then when the lock has been drilled I was then given the option of three distinct locks (a low, medium and higher security alternative )...I obtained a final bill of $400! $400 bucks!!!!! I might have purchased a new front door for that! They said it was a $65 dollar charge to come out there!
$400 on a Sunday! I have the receipt. . .that is insane! Complete robbery!
Great service for very reasonable rates in contrast to their counterparts in the area. I work in real estate and always must make key copies, they are the group on the Upper West. Highly recommend!
I guess a few people figure taking advantage of someone else's hardship is.
Got locked out of the apartment. We called and were told that the ceremony could be $95. We confirmed? No fees? And we were told,"not unless it is some unusual sort of lock." The locksmith arrives,'' states that the $95 is only the late night/weekend fee and that the entire thing (with new lock) is, with tax $262.00. Cash only.
I've used thier today to set up locks on our newest door. The dislached on the phone was nice and is micheal, the locksmith who preformed the work.
We spent more money that me and mubwife intended but its money well spent.
We were locked out and told that the cost range was $85-125. After you're provided a range, you expect the cost to remain in the range, although it was 2:30 in the morning, so we expected it to be more expensive. In addition, we know that there are different kinds of locks and some require a lot more effort than others. This was not true for us. It was the lock on a flat door in New York City. When he arrived in, nothing was said by the locksmith. We asked what kind of payment we can give him and he said it would be $220. We spent the next 10 minutes arguing to get it down to $150 above the quoted cost for the most elementary lock there's. Absolute liars. Seemingly a"service fee" is not included in the range. That service fee was $45. So AT MOST $45 and $125 is 170. Simple math.
These guys are saints, they came into my place while I was off because my housekeeper was locked from the apartment., and fixed my lock, once I came back 2 month later I notice that lock was somewhat loose, I called them up and they arrived and fix it to no extra charge. Will definitely call them back.
I called to the crisis number the man who arrived to change all my locks gave me on a saturday night at 10 pm. This company charged me $1,000.00 to fix my locks in a crisis and the man they sent out was VERY wonderful. The OWNER who responded that the next #: 212-678-6260, this man, was dreadful, RUDE and could not be BOTHERED to assist me. I suggest you spend your money elsewhere since the shop's owner is really a jerk. I eventually asked for his name since he was so incredibly rude, and he said,"My name is irrelevant" I informed him I did not appreciate him being rude since he took my $1,000.00 before that was a rip away from what Ive been reading on these reviews. His attitude did not even straighten out. He said,"Listen you're calling at 10 pm. . .blah blah blah. " (Yea, its 10 Pm you jerk, on a Saturday night when on your website, it says ask a quotation, replies within one hour. I just called the emergency number THEY GAVE ME From it had been URGENT!! also earlier since my renter had his STOLEN Sorry I ruined your TV show blaring in the background.) I was astounded at his unprofessional behavior, I wrapped up finally on him. Misuse isn't tolerated by me . Especially a business owner that is supposed. We owned a 10 truck company at one time. If I talked to a client, regardless of what time it had been, Id be from business with his attitude.Do a favor,Spend your time and money elsewhere. Do NOT telephone or use this particular ordeal.
I had to enter my apartment and recently had an issue with my door knob. I'll give them credit for friendliness and promptness but that's where it stops.
The man came and assessed the doorway - he quotes me price $179. Seemed expensive but I wanted to get in so I gave him go. What he did not tell me it would be additional for a brand new lock the deadbolt has been ruined. He then quotes me for a brand new"standard" lock which will cost $160. I essentially had no option but to agree I'd not have any lock on my door. When all was done and said it cost me nearly $400 only to drill through lock and have it replaced with a standard deadbolt that costs perhaps $30 at hardware shop.
By this time I wasn't happy about price and knew I was getting ripped off big time so today I did a little analysis and called around to a few areas to get a quote and they advised me $150 - $200.
Not certain why there are so many reviews. . .the costs they charge for drilling a hole through a deadbolt and replacing it are INSANE! $400 to drill hole and replace with a standard deadbolt!!
I arrived to visit my aunt in Upper West Side last week, problem was that she forgot to leave the doorman to a key. I decided to start looking for a locksmith online and came across Dial Locksmith. Couple of minutes after my phone, the tech was at my door step. He managed to shim the door open and get me in within 5 minutes. I promised to give him a review for his great support, thank you Very
Best notch service.
Some locksmith tried to tear me off, but they were upfront and honest about the cost. He got there immediately, was pleasant and professional, and did the job in about 5 seconds.
Getting locked out is such a nuisance however Dial Locksmith was amazing at getting me back. He ended up having to drill through my lock, but managed to install a new lock fast. Really nice and comprehension. I hope I do not need to use them but if I do I'll definitely be calling them!
I own a brownstone not to and I have used them several times. Ely is responsive and very honest, I can trust him with Id of my work.
What can I say that have not said yet, they're friendly, dependable and professional.
I had to get a secret copied, so I hopped in this tiny locksmith store on west 96 st. The employee Ely was super nice and friendly. He had my keys The keys work good I am quite pleased with the service. Thank you.
This locksmith created a copy of a key for me cheaply and quickly. I walked in and within 3 minutes I had the copy. I would strongly recommend going here for your locksmith needs.
This can be epic bulshit.
Just came home with two copies, and neither work.
It's possible they have a page of"customer support" mantras exhibited in their countertop, but that is where it ends...
One was a costly MultiLock, the other door key.
This ought to be Page one / Chapter One advice if you're a locksmith.
Have to go back out in the rain and receive them re-done.
Company, Walked into create two copies and has been out in under 5 minutes. Type man and rates. Definitely recommend
I had to get a couple keys cut for my university dorms, nobody managed to create them from dial beside Ely. He was fast, efficient and charged me a price that is good. I had been really suprises from the significant verity of things they have in their store, cool place!
When I asked how much it'd cost to get me in to my apartment and predicted Dial, they told me $100. Seeing as that was roughly the exact same speed areas we charged, I went with them since they were nearest.
It is extremely bad form to not be simple with what the cost of services will probably be with a client, particularly when they've asked and when their safety is on the line. To wait until after you've broken my lock inform me that my cost that is estimated is now more than double what you initially told me if I want to get is simply dreadful. Prior to putting them in a position in which these additions become private safety requirements next time somebody asks for a cost quote, you can inform them.
THIS is the type of thing you mention to a person BEFORE you break the lock on their door out! When the lock has been destroyed, what are my options? To live and sleep in an apartment that is unlocked and forfeit my personal safety?! As a young woman, I opted for the latter, but maybe not before questioning why he neglected to mention that extra cost when I specifically asked him just how much it was going to cost me. He advised me it was because they don't possess the locks that people need and he didn't want to offer what he didn't have. You're there, staring in my lock, although I am sorry you know not or if you've got it with you.
45 minutes later, the locksmith shows up and that I affirm that it will cost $100, since they told me. He reacted that was $95, and $35 for the service call out there to get at the apartment so in actuality, the cost was $130. Since he was there, I saw no point in arguing, so it was consented to by me. He informs me that because he had to drill the lockit is now broken, and it will cost me $155 to buy and install a lock on my door, bringing my grand total after tax to $310!
