Center Hardware & Supply Company

Unlike Lowes, Center Hardware is independently owned. Unlike Lowes, Center Hardware prefers to employ people who are already familiar with other goods and hardware tools. I make every attempt to shop there when Center Hardware has products which I need to purchase, although it does not have everything the chain stores have. Unfortunately, I shop at Lowes since their hours are time flexibility. Super hardware/home improvement shop that is amazing and the other independently owned is Discount Builders Supply on Mission and So. Van Ness with a free parking lot too. At the locations that are owned customers do treated as such and feel as friends. In Lowes, employees last long enough to recall the face of anyone.
The store's layout facilitates finding things faster. Even a number of the years employees are still there.
Perhaps it cannot compete with the higher volume of product since Lowe's, and its own costs might be a couple of cents or perhaps a couple of dollars more, but the higher level of customer service, depth of product knowledge, and general friendliness is well worth patronizing Center Hardware. Not just, especially us girls managing our home, do those guys know their products, but even take the time to show me how to use those goods. In Lowes, I end up telling all Lowes' employees where their goods are situated.

I was looking for help and the team here was useful. They took the time to inquire about what I was doing and suggested options that I hadn't previously considered.
Workers asked me when I needed as I walked through the shop, whereas my jaunts at Home Depot and Lowe's have left me wandering the aisles searching for 33, help.

It's an excellent spacious store with whatever you need. Even parking!
Far beyond the call of duty.
I went there with a faucet onto a twist that is broken it hurts. I had no idea how to get it out. Danny took her time and utilizing different tools managed to remove the broken twist and matched the most suitable one and help me place a new one on.

Fantastic service and product selection. Every time which have been here, the employees were very helpful in locating the correct things that I wanted. There is A major plus their fastener selection.

This is my favorite hardware store. This was this first location to create those keys for your car and not have to pay $300 in the merchant. Plus they have plenty of other stuff!! So I'm a customer. Thx

Selection of construction and hardware supplies

I went for a key duplication to hardware. It's very quick, the shop assistant get things.

I am. This was a selection of different work gloves in sizes that are small. I almost never see that in hardware stores. I remarked on it into the man behind the counter and he also explained there will always be small sizes and that his wife works in the trades. That was enough to make me return to them for gloves. It's hard to find and it is much appreciated.

Amazing shop! Love to go here when I have a job going on. The staff is helpful and friendly. Rates are fair.

Hardware shop. The people who work there are always friendly and helpful. They're a family business that's been around since the late 1800's. They have sellers shows and fun community events. Its a big store and they have lots of great rates and products. I highly recommend going to Center Hardware and skipping the big box hardware areas.

I have been cured! No longer Lowe's or Home Depot for me personally. This place is outstanding. I don't even care if I have to pay 5% more (and I am not sure there is a price difference anyhow ). They don't always have what I need, although I tend to enjoy smaller, independent hardware stores. This shop is a major shop, run just like a small store... and those are great things. It is well stocked, clean, organized, and nicely laid out; this really is a shop where you could receive from the lighting department to hardware department without walking for 10 minutes and dodging forklifts. You may spend 10 minutes, just because it's so well merchandised which you'll receive pleasantly distracted and want to look around. But ask one of those friendly people a query, and presto, they know the answer, are willing to help in finding the right item and prepared to help. Easy parking; assess! Easy voucher; yep! Friendly people; certainly! (Fabian was awesome). Fair costs; totally! Conveniently located; alleluia! If you can not tell, I am a convert. Head blown off!

Oh hello, new hardware store!
If you're unsure whether they carry some thing, but when they do, call ahead, you can bet there are at least 5 types/brands/sizes to choose from.
Do not get me wrong, I _ _ love Cole Fox, but since the loss of the Bernal place I have not been thrilled to go downtown and they are in a category of hardware store for me.
Center, on the other hand, covers your home project needs with a brand new, freeway-friendly place in the Dogpatch and friendly staff. I recalled visiting their old place a couple of occasions but found it too densely packed to go out of my way. They also had lots of friendly staff, although this space has everything arranged in wide aisles which make for.
Where Cole Fox excels at breadth (you can definitely find almost anything there, from toys to aprons to paint) but not as much depth, I'd say Center includes a thinner depth into raw materials, hardware, gear, etc without much breadth into housewares (their entire aisle of coolers excepted).

If Home Depot or Lowe's don't have everything you want - check these guys out. They have all the heavy duty tools you want to get the task finished. Glad they have existed for at least a hundred decades.

As your prices are fair, I would like to support you more and your variety of household products, and gear, drillbits, batteries, garbage cans, cleaning equipment is superb. But yard and garden equipment are needed. Please enlarge and I think you'll find a return.
- I can not understand why you won't promote much gardening equipment. You get the idea. We hatchets need more than just the hoses, and pitchforks you sell. Most of the gardening stores at SF are in unparkable areas (considering you, Cole's Hardware) or are prohibitively expensive (*ahem* Flora Grubb). You guys could fill a need for those people that wish to areas, by fulfilling this need with your space, and you'd make as much MONEY.
- Please close at 6pm instead of 5pm.
- Please move your Command Hooks closer to the front of the store -- they're a great impulse-buy item that you've hidden away into a corner.
- Please employ not just in key-making, and more women for the revenue floor. You will be thanked by 50 and you'll see more company. Win-win!
Center Hardware, I truly want to appreciate you and I've been a regular customer for many years, but you could be a little bit better.
- Consider posting a labeled map of the aisles near the entry so people know the way to go. The layout is not really intuitive.
- Please dust shelves and your merchandise.

There are a few good hardware stores in San Francisco -- Cliff's in the Castro, Cole-Fox on 4th, along with the upstart in Glenn Park -- but they can't beat Center Hardware on 3rd. First of all, they can't fit range and the floor space of tools and products. (They carried, in stock, a somewhat obscure exhaust fan that just matched the current cut-out.) And, they others do not have Dannie -- an customer-centric and exceptionally knowledgeable person who fielded by phone inquiry, took time to check the inventory and assure me that they had it. Try that.

Should be called "Hardware Heaven!" They have everything I have wanted for my home improvement jobs and what they didn't have, they had the ability to purchase. After going to six other shops for door hinges, for example one spot that needed to charge me $45 dollars each for hinges which were obviously not the correct gauge (dude insisted their hinges were exactly the same gauge as what I had been substituting ) Center Hardware ordered precisely what I wanted. They have tons of household materials, and a staff, a wide choice of tools. Forget the crowded chain shops and develop a Center Hardware habit.

They shut at 5pm. I popped over through lunch ample street parking, and Robert helped me. Heart and what an awesome experience is well stocked. No longer going to Homedepot or Lowe's with partners and parking lots who know port.
I spent a few minutes they have locksmith, pipes, hardware, gear, and paints. Very pleased with my experience.
Having only worked for two weeks. Now I needed to create copies of our office mailbox keys, telephone my Richmond district neighborhood hardware store, they close at 5:30pm gave me $5.25 a secret.

I don't recommend this place. Customer service. The folks don't know what they're discussing. They are not informed on anything. I attempt to do a market as well as the individual at the front didn't know how to handle it. They want to train their employees

Unfriendly staff, hard to find what we had, costs not clearly indicated. When we finally found what we had (but could not observe the cost ) we waited in line for a long time to eventually learn that it had been twice as costly as the same thing (shower curtain rod) at a nearby hardware. We won't be back.

Fabian and Steve are amazing. I have dropped by this hardware store the last few weekends, as I've been completing some DIY jobs that were little, and both of these gentleman have been helpful and friendly. Have been helpful in answering my questions. Not sure why if this jewel of a hardware store is right down the road I'd ever need to visit Home Depot or Lowes. Star for Fabian and Steve.
