We'd Mr. Rekey come out initially to install new door hardware onto our front doorway and Ken told us that all installs are ensured with their small business. Sure enough, a week later the Schlage latch was popping out which would make it hard to open the doorway. I phoned Mr. Rekey back and they had Dave out the next day which was a Saturday. If he'd billed us dave substituted it for FREE which would have been $100 + and relized that it was a defective latch. Literally, later that day, the door nob latch shattered making our entrance door completely unusable, turning the knob wouldn't open the door (we needed to undergo our garage to acquire in/out of their house). Called Dave back up and he said he'd be back to take care of us and make it right. Dave managed to return on that next Monday. I'd since purchased new front door components (both Baldwin and Schlage locks) and, on his return, asked him which one would be better. He told me the Baldwin lockset. He installed that lockset for FREE (he told me that he's seen both problems before but NEVER on one lockset). He then asked me if I needed the garage door lock to coordinate with the front door key, I said sure but asked if there would be a fee for that. He said no, he'd take care of it for us to ensure we were all happy.
I wished to make a point of letting others know exactly what a fantastic experience I had with notably and this locksmith with Dave who stood with his word and MADE IT RIGHT.
Instead of two keys we have one, and we've got an amazing lockset on our doorway THAT WORKS! I can not recommend Mr. Rekey enough concerning making certain that we were satisfied with our lock installation and the pure reality they stood with their guarantee of their job (To clarify, it was not Mr. Rekey's mistake the lock was not working, it turned out to be a faulty Schlage lockset).
I had recently lost my apartment keys with my speech jeopardized. So I looked to have my apartment rekeyed ASAP. So that I called the number listed on the Mr Rekey 17, Mr Rekey was urged by our building manager. I was told that they are serving the Seattle area, and I was called by them to their former franchisee - Pacific Northwest Locksmith
PNW Locksmith didn't have some accessibility until later in the week and they gave me the most dreaded 4 hour service window (1PM-5PM). While I was hoping for something sooner, I figured why not because I already took away the date from work. It was my son's 1st birthday, but I figured it could not take the whole time right?! up
They have the Mr Rekey franchise, now with their name that is community Pacific Northwest Locksmith.
Eventually I get a call from their office around hour . I get the answer although they don't know but might contact the technician. I have never heard back from them, and instead get a call from the technician at about 20 til 5 asking if I am still available at 5PM (at the close of the service window). I said yes.
Re: additional charge, it might have been nice to know about that beforehand. According to the tech, he's worked on our building before and that it was common for every unit. It was sprung on me after I waited past the 4 hour service window, although the extra price was fair.
Summary: The only thing stopping me from giving 1 star is that the caliber of the job was great. Tech put this up so that any future jobs won't require the. Otherwise, they could really boost their customer service, communication, accessibility, timeliness, and courtesy/respect for your time (even a simple apology or acknowledgement for waiting outside the 4 hour service window would have gone a very long way in taking away the sour flavor I got from that transaction). Because of that, Regrettably I can not recommend these guys.
Well, lesson learned on my part not to have anything else going on throughout the day when you've got a 4 hour service window. I know it's a (crappy) industry norm, so that I don't necessarily blame them for that. What frustrated me more was that the customer service, or absence of, once the service window wrapped around.
The technician arrived just a couple of minutes after 5PM (aka after the service window). Such as acknowledgement that it was after the service window, not thanking the client for patience no courtesy. I asked, not anticipating anything, if there was any chance the service could be discounted because it was outside the service window. He SCOFFED at my petition, saying that he was just a couple of minutes ago time (ignoring the fact that I'd already waited the full 4 hours). I didn't have much of a choice by thenI could not afford to shoot another day off work and had already waited all day. I accepted but that I wasn't happy about the circumstance and the technician did not remotely acknowledge that he was late.
I tried calling about an hour just to see if there was any idea where I might be at the queue, but no reply from the main office. I figured it best to run home and grab the end of the service window just in case. Of course it can be a lil bit of mental torture to wait during service windows and I start to wonder if they had forgotten (I'd no confirmation email or telephone ), I call again a lil after the two hour window. . .still no answer.
It took them over 10 days to get back to me for an order that I placed online (via email). After they tried to program a 4 hour window to the next week. I went with a company which finished in 20 minutes and showed up in a couple hours.
I like the service I have received in the area, used them around 6 times in the past few months. What I don't care for is the inability to get anyone. It seems like there is a woman who owns the local franchise, however I can not find a way to reach her directly, and sitting with the number everyone uses could be anywhere from 10-15 minutes and if you press #3 for your account (which I might presume is a means to pay your invoice or upgrade your billing) that just rings forever and no one picks up. You don't pay on the spot which is awesome if you are not likely to be present while they do the job. They randomly send my invoices to folks in the organization, so sometimes I get them and sometimes I really don't. I have gotten a lot of FREE service.
Excellent support. Arrived on time, was very professional. Made tips that took care of problems with my doors and saved me money. He made me keys. Great work!

Quick, on time, professional. I'd six locks rekeyed when we bought a new home. Also had two extra keys created for $2.50 each.
Excellent support. Arrived on time, was very professional. Made tips that took care of problems with my doors and saved me money. He made me keys. Great work!
I had been stuck in a pinch, while doing lawn work locked myself out. Mr rekey showed up and got me back into the house fast. Easily recommended.
