2414 W Fulton was a small trek, but my wife brought her key & alert after we arrived to paying $164 + tax for the crucial w/the alarm, resigned. She inquired if they can do anything. Well much to our surprise the old broken key had the processor inside and they had a key fob so that they Could cut a key and it cost us $38 including tax rather than $164 via General Lock or $235 via Toyota

Years ago I discovered about General Lock when I possessed 3 buildings. Brought me into General Lock. In the time they were on Fullerton only east of Cicero Avenue. I continued with them for year at this location they were gone and until I went there to get keys made. General Lock moved north to Milwaukee Avenue just north of Irving Park several blocks. Now I went there and General Lock was gone. They transferred into 2414 W Fulton Street (just west of Western Avenue)
Now 03/07/18 my wife needed a key replacement for her Toyota RAV4 after getting quotes from several distinct locksmiths and a Toyota Dealer General Locks offered me $164 + tax for the key together with the alert & $55 for its key wo/an alert, both because of the chip in the key. I thought that was expensive until I called Toyota and they wanted $98 + tax to get its key wo/the alert & $235 + tax. After getting the pricing estimates I guessed it's what it is and went into General Lock to get the replacement key created.
If your car alarm breaks onto the key since it has a processor in it and may save you a ton of cash when getting a replacement unless you're the Uber wealthy and don't care don't forget.
Dudes & Dudettes in case you need keys to your house, buildings or especially automobiles go to General Lock. I've been going to General Lock for years that was close to where my buildings were. The only issue is now, where are they located?

I stopped to get a replacement key and I may say working 34, I was blown away from both gentlemen's client support and professionalism. This is a company that cares about their client. Highly recommend general lock in their new location on w / Fulton st.

If you're trying to find a copy of a automotive key that has a processor, do not squander your time at the Dealer's go to these specialists.

Jay could not help me, but called another locksmith who would. He didn't need to do exactly what he did, including calling the other shop to say I was coming, but Jay didn't leave me stranded. These guys who are locksmiths, with shops and abilities, beat someone dispatched each moment. Shop neighborhood, locksmith neighborhood.

Highly recommended. I had this guys come out to my house and re-key 5 locks into one mix. Went from utilizing 3 key that was distinct to only one. They gave me suggestions about how to do it cheaper and quicker . The tumblers were fixed by them and created keys. Done in a matter of 20 minutes.

If I only knew about this place, I'd have saved hundreds by now...I've needed spare keys for the cars I've purchased in the past. They are extremely educated. I called beforehand, was told that they could do the work of what the seller asked, 1/3rd. Was told I could stop by anytime and could require 10-15 min. I completed and showed up a couple of days later with no appointment. Free, except I had no battery my key fob, but they figured out that. Overall, very happy client.

I really do believe that is the locksmith joint which will not rip off you and the service is number one! Wether you need a key for your car for whatever its an extremely thirfty spot to go! Of parking.call them they are great!

I have been working with Bill & Jills group, including my Rod. They've done everything for me, from industrial to residential. Lets see, door bells, industrial buzzer systems with pagers, locks together with the numbers on them you use a code to open- great for workers, door installation, hardware selection, I have a Multi-lock system that is fantastic for anyone who has multiple keys- its a Master key system where I could open my business doorway, my flats rentals along with my home, all in 1 key. What prompted this is that I called Bill and told him I somehow locked myself out and was anyone near by, he sent Rod, who just happened to be 5 minutes from my house in the burbs and didnt even charge me since we do so much business jointly. They are competitive and fair with their pricing, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Great company because their team ROCKS!!

Eight decades later I've had many visits to General Locks, and have had a good experience. The counter staff is helpful. Whenever I have I refer folks to General Locks.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had nearly 40 steel keys that needed cutting and, clearly, I needed them. Not every key cutter does these. When I went , they appeared to be busy, but they could accommodate me and have the keys. It looks like they have a selection of doorknobs, locks, and materials, just peering around the store. I was Suggested to General Lock from Nonstop Locksmith. They were also honest and very courteous. I was told by them that they couldn't perform the cut I wanted, but were enough to urge General Lock.

Also, less than Home Depot charge to copy keys!
I called to have the lock on my doorway re-keyed. They came within an hour and had the job done in about 30 minutes.

Desired a transponder key for auto dealer wanted $250.00 for a single key!!!! Went and watched Tom and I introduced some keys he did both for just 80 bucks and I got online. Well worth it 5 stars for saving $$ and nice also.

Rod came out to rekey all the locks in garage and my home. He functioned efficiently and economically and came on time. He politely answered all of my questions and addressed my initial concerns. General Lock is now my Go To place for anything locksmith related.

I went today to receive remote programed and my new cut, they were effective and nice. I was in and out within 20 minutes and the cost was great. I will recomend them to anyone I know. Thanks so

Most economical place to receive a car key made from the city. The service was superb. I didn't feel like I was dealing w/ a shady locksmith that tried to make the most of me in a situation.

I dont want to write too long of a critique but allow me to tell you these individuals are the best in the industry. Very top and reasonable prices of that customer service. They made my GMC truck crucial with no hassle. Highly recommend them.

I returned last Friday -- several days after the blizzard struck -- and the car was cleaned off, the secret was ready and that I couldn't have been more satisfied with the experience.
Everything was going great. This was the weekend before Christmas, and that I was gearing up for weekly at home with household in RI and then spent in Hawaii with his family and my boyfriend. It was great -- that is until I dropped of my keys.
Best customer service I've ever received. No question about it.
The staff at GL worked to attempt to flash my car's computer program. It never worked. And that's because, I was told, of a broken processor. The owner of GL called me up and said he'd taken the car's computer and would absorb the price of the repair to the quote. Amazing. Amazing. Fantastic. But for the fact that I wouldn't return for more than a month and left the following day.
If you have a key/lock issue, go to GL -- it was clearly one of the better decisions I have made in my entire life.
I understood the replacement crucial for my Toyota Camry was going to be costly. After getting a couple of exorbitant estimates I called up my mechanic who called me to General Lock. They gave the quote for the replacement to me by far. AAA towed my car to their shop in Portage Park and we expected that the secret would be ready by the end of the work day. I was especially worried as the following day I intended to leave Chicago.
Much to my surprise, the owner offered to store my own car for the entire time that I was off in the lot he shared throughout the street. Omg. Omg. Gratitude was dripping from every pore.
I got the word that the processor was fixed -- for about $85. He said, you, we will not charge . Again, amazing.

This place is amazing. I've got a Lexus with a problem that is key and the dealership wanted $500 to type it out. Tom at General Lock provided me several options including a new master key for less than half what the dealership desired. However, I left exactly what I want at under 20 minutes and less than $100. Tom was professional and totally knowledgable and this is the type of business experience we all hope we could have and so are surprised and delighted anymore if we do.
